While we wait for the summer, we explore Orust a bit.
There is a lot to do in Orust and in the summer there is even more. It’s still only January and summer is a while away. But, time goes by quickly and suddenly it will be full of summer guests in the houses, at the swimming areas and outdoor dining. We are longing!
Elvis, a Cockerpoo Dog
Our dog Elvis, a cocker-poo dog, sits on the bridge in Henån and waits for the dog girls who visit Orust during the summer. We both long for summer with warm summer evenings, sunny days and the beautiful summer nature.
Fröken Trulls
Afterwards we visit Miss Trulls, have a look at their paddling course that they have and then eat a warm, wonderfully good goulash soup. Dogs are also welcome here. In this cosy, unique restaurant you will find antique furniture, which can also be bought, good coffee, fantastic food and also a commercial garden adjacent to the restaurant. Outside, there are small booths that you can sit in during the coffee break.

Morlanda Naturreservat
In the middle of Orust we find the Morlanda Nature Reserve. In the nature reserve, you will also find one of the county’s largest farms, Morlanda Säteri, which has large farmland in the western part, which also has medieval origins. The main building dates from the 1670s and is thus supposed to be Bohuslän’s oldest wooden building.
In the center of the reserve there is a golf course. At Malö Strömmar, within the nature reserve, there are bathing-friendly rocks and beautiful sandy beaches. From Sven’s Altare, which is the reserve’s highest point, you have a fantastic wide view towards both the coniferous forest-dominated Storehamn and also towards the beautiful archipelago landscape.
Gullholmen
Gullholmen is one of Orust’s car-free areas. You have to take the boat there from Tuvesvik. If you go up the modern stairs on the mountain, you have a fantastic view.
